Short Answer: Congress winning 2024 is a hard sell. Though, it is very much possible, after all change is the only constant in politics. Though, we shouldn’t forget that in a time like today and a country as diverse as India, it’s a hard thing get elected for a 3–4 times in a row. And nobody wants that – since strong opposition is necessary for a vibrant democracy. It isn’t the era of 1950 or 60s, where a party can single handedly dominant, because we were just evolving there, a newly born democracy. Now, we are somewhat mature. So, it is hard to consolidate power for so long. What party are most Indians likely to associate with “nationalism”? What party they are most likely to associate with “Hinduism”?

Honest question: how do people think Obama would have fared in 2012 if his approval ratings had been 20 points worse than they were? What’s more, Obama was actually underestimated by the 2012 polling. Does anyone have a persuasive theory of why the polling numbers in 2024 would be underestimating Biden? They certainly didn’t in 2020. What fundamental change has happened that this should be so different now?
