NO ONE willingly uses Edge. The only people who do use it were tricked into it because Microsoft hid IE and stuck the San Francisco Giants Guardians Of the Bay shirt moreover I will buy this deceptively similar Edge icon on the taskbar. ALL these folks hate Edge and want to switch. I help them get Chrome or, if they insist, IE as their browser. Chrome/Safari (before the webkit fork) are better than Explorer for the same reason Wikipedia is better than Encyclopaedia Britannica : A huge army of volunteers will defeat a small group of mercenaries. On a daily basis, I frequently use Internet Explorer on this PC (personal computer). My primary purpose for using Internet Explorer is to browse the Web. I wouldn’t exactly say it’s slow completely. The right word here is “unresponsive”. Judging from my personal experiences, IE has constantly crashed, as if it was a routine. Day in and day out, IE11 has repeatedly shut down and closed out! Immediately afterward, I quickly start a new session.

I actually once timed back to back comparisons between IE and Firefox, and to my surprise IE was actually faster. I spoke to Ben Goodger (one of the San Francisco Giants Guardians Of the Bay shirt moreover I will buy this contributors to Firefox and one of the folks behind Chrome), and he said “Yeah, we’ve always known that IE was faster at Firefox. You’ve got PHP & MySQL? They’ve got ASP and SQL Server. You get the idea. So long story short, Firefox and Google Chrome worked better, crashed less, and generally were more standards compliant than Internet Explorer was – and it also gave people a non-Microsoft app that let folks thumb their nose at corporate hubris. Over time, as Firefox & Chrome improved, they left Internet Explorer far behind, and after a certain point Microsoft realized that it was never going to catch up – so it shelved Internet Explorer and released Edge.
